Saturday - Bali Volunteer Orientation Day 1
Volunteers arrives into Bali at Denpasar International Airport.
Our driver will be there to pick you up and take you to Ubud village.
You will be checked into you accommodation in Ubud (about 1hrs drive) where you will have free time to rest after your long trip from your home country. Whilst in Ubud you can shop and stock up on supplies or personal products before you leave to Program by the Sea in Tianyar on Sunday.
Sunday - Bali Volunteer Orientation Day 2
- 10:00am to 12noon Program Orientation
On your second day in Ubud, you will be provided with information on the do's and dont's whilst you are in Bali, such as dress code and personal conduct. One of our Balinese volunteer co-ordinators will be there to answer any of your questions or concerns.
* Both Program by the Sea and Program Ubud Village volunteers.
- 12noon to 2:00pm have lunch together with the new volunteers
- Free afternoon and evening, time to relax or explore Ubud
Monday - Volunteer Orientation Day 3
- 10:00am check out of your accomodation in Ubud
After checking out of your accomodation our driver together with other new volunteers start their trip to Program by the Sea location.
- 12:00pm to 1:00pm stop for lunch at Candi Dasa a seaside village
Have a relaxing lunch by the beach at Candi Dasa village and then set off on a 1.5hrs drive through some beauiful traditional villages and ricefields to our final destination, Program by the Sea.
- 2:30pm arrive at Program by the Sea location
Settle into the volunteer's accomodation and meet the other volunteers. Our local volunteer co-cordinator will then take you on the local village orientation (learning center's facilties, beach, shops, ATM, tradional local market).
- 6:00pm have dinner with all the volunteers and local staff
This is a good time get to know each other over some great meals cooked by our local chef, Nyoman.
Tuesday - Volunteer Orientation Day 4
- 7:00am- 8:00am have breakfast with the other volunteers
After breakfast meet with the other volunteers and volunteer co-ordinator to prepare for the teaching week ahead. This is when you will be provided with information on your classes and meet the other volunteer you will be co-teaching with during the week ahead.
- 10:00am to 11:00am - Morning Teaching classes
Volunteers will teach one morning class.
- 2:00pm to 4:00pm - Afternoon Teaching classes
All volunteers will either teach 1 or 2 classes during this period depending if they teach in the morning session.
- 4:00pm to 6:00pm - Free time
Relax read a book, play with the children or head off to the beach with the children for a swim.
- 6:00pm have dinner with all the volunteers and local staff
Good time to reflect on the first day's teaching with other volunteers and local staff.
