Children Sponsorship Program

Background
Our Balinesee Children Sponsorship Program focuses on supporting children in Bali who come from underprivileged families or who face difficulties accessing education and other basic needs. While Bali is known as an international tourist destination rich in culture and natural beauty, there are also social and economic inequalities that affect the lives of local communities, particularly in rural and remote areas.
Many children in Bali live in deprived conditions, facing major challenges in terms of education, nutrition, and access to adequate healthcare. Factors such as poverty, low levels of parental education, as well as limited facilities in some areas, make it difficult for children to have the same opportunities as children in more developed areas.
Main Purpose
Our Balinesee Children Sponsorship Program aims to address this gap by providing support in the form of education fees, health assistance, and facilities that support the development of children in Bali. Through this program, sponsors both individuals and organizations play an important role in providing funds or resources that are used to support underprivileged children to continue learning, developing, and having better opportunities for their future.
Program Details
- A sponsor may choose to sponsor a specific child or children.
- A child will be nominated for the Sponsorship program by WINS after an assessment of the need has been completed.
- In accordance with the WINS policy, all sponsor donations will be used only for educational purposes such as: school fees, transport cost from/to school, uniforms, books, pencils, use of library, internet, etc.
- However, the sponsor may decide that an additional donation can be used for other purposes, for example: clothing, healthcare, savings account, etc.

Procedure

- Together with the sponsor, a financial plan will be prepared for the child.
- This financial plan will be evaluated annually at the end of each school year and adjusted as required. (fees do increase from time to time)
- The sponsor will decide the frequency of their donation. (monthly, annually)
- The sponsor has the right to stop the sponsorship. (6 months advance notice in order for WINS to find a new sponsor).
The Financial Structure
- The child will have their own local bank account. As soon as the child can read and write, they will do their own bookkeeping under the supervision of the Learning Centers staff. In this way, the child will learn to deal with financial matters.
- WINS will transfer the donation directly to the child’s bank account. The entire 100% of the donation goes into the child’s account.
- All fees and other overhead costs are paid from the WINS general fund.
- The child’s financial ledger will be sent to the sponsor on a periodic basis.

The Communication Structure
The children receive English lessons and computer lessons at the learning center. The sponsor and child can therefore have direct e-mail communication with each other. The child will get his/her own e-mail account.
Through the Bali Children Sponsorship Program, it is hoped that the sponsored children can gain better access to education, reduce the economic burden on their families, and pave the way for a brighter future. The program also aims to raise public awareness in supporting the development of Bali’s young generation in a sustainable manner. For further information on sponsoring a child, please contact us.
